Summer 2013 Part 2

Goodness knows how many pictures I downloaded from my phone from this summer but I decided it would be easiest to do a series of summer posts. That way I'm not too overwhelmed to post about everything at one time and it keeps me from doing one post with 200 pictures :)
Since my last post at the end of May our baby David has grown quite a bit! He just turned 10 months and is a crawling Houdini and pulling up on everything. He's big enough to sit in the grocery cart like a big boy. He and Ben shared a ride on one of our Costco trips. He was pretty excited - Ben wasn't so sure - He's used to sharing this seat with his sister :)
In June J took Gracie to Chick-fil-A for the Daddy-Daughter Date night. He told her the morning before he left for work that he was taking just her out that night for a special date and for her to wear her favorite dress. She was super excited and bragged about it all day to her brothers -which they loved - not! She chose a princess dress to wear and wanted to wear her hair down - what a princess she is! They had a great time and she even accompanied her daddy to get his hair cut and go to the book store. Sounds very similar to one of our dates :)
The A-team eating snacks on the porch steps :)
Usually one Saturday in the summer the kids and I hit a neighborhood yard sale for "treasures". The kids love looking at other people's stuff and would bring it all home if they could. This year there weren't as many "treasures" as we've seen in the past but the boys were pretty excited to pick up these transformer costumes :)
And, we've got another baller! This boy loves to get his hands on a baseball!
Father's Day 2013 - J with his crew. We got J and his dad tickets to a local men's conference for Father's Day - he got to hear Tim Tebow and lots of other great men of faith and he got the spend a few days with his Dad without the hustle of kids and work. So thankful for all he does for us!!
There was a time when I could put him in the empty bath tub with a cup and a plastic hanger and he would be totally content while I got ready for the day. This was before he was really in to crawling - he no longer finds this as enjoyable as he does in this picture :)
The baby that thinks he's a big boy strikes again :) The big boys were out of town one weekend and when I got to the van to buckle him in I found him sitting in one of their booster seats and trying to put the seat belt on. Do you see how absolutely serious he was about it!
How many Allen's can see saw at one time? Apparently 4! Hoe fun are these kids!!
It really doesn't happen too often but when this sweet boy gets upset we get this big bottom lip!
Ben's first time on the bed of nails at McWane :)
The same weekend the big boys were away these two were like peas and carrots - which is really pretty normal. Ben will do anything for or with Gracie. He adores her and she adores that he adores her :) She was calling him her "superhero sidekick" and he was loving it!
If sister is floating then Ben is floating too :)
So proud to be pulling up and standing!
This boy!! This is his "CHEESE" face :) I pray we don't see this look again when he's 30 :) (J would respond to this picture with a sarcastic Roll Tide!)
So, at the start of the summer this girl REFUSED to put her face under water and swim without her puddle jumper on. In early June J tried to work with her to teach her to float in our pool and I seriously expected the cops to ride up to the house. She was screaming like a cat having it's nails ripped out! I was thinking, ooh boy - she has a long way to go. But soon after that something clicked and now she is a fish! She now REFUSES to wear her puddle jumper and wants to jump in and swim all the time. She's almost ready to past the swim test at the Y. I tell you what - when this girl puts her mind to do something nothing will stop her - but the same goes when she puts her mind to NOT do something :)
One pooped buddy after a swim birthday party :)
