Christmas and catch up!

I have so many things I want to blog about but never enough time:)!
Christmas was wonderful this year. We stayed around here and my mom and papa steve spent Christmas Eve with us so they could see the boys open their presents Christmas morning. Then we had Christmas dinner with Jeremy's dad and fiancee's family. The boys LOVED all the new toys. We didn't go overboard at all - just a tool set, some blocks, and a couple other little things. We don't have a big extended family that buys them stuff so other than a couple other things from the grandparents it's really not too crazy around here - but even that little bit seemed to expand Christmas morning. It was really almost too much for them - they would open one thing and love it and play with it and then not really want to go to the next thing. Honestly, next year we may just do one great toy each - not to be a bah hum bug but they have more than they need already :) This year we tried to teach James more about what Christmas is really about and even had a little birthday party for Jesus Christmas morning before we opened presents. I'm not sure how much he really took in this year. He did tell Jeremy that the presents under the tree were for Jesus' birthday and not by anything we have done he thinks that Santa is Jesus (to be fair, he thinks all bearded men are Jesus). But we cracked up whenever a Santa would be on tv James would yell "Jeju!" Next year we may have to correct this :)
Jeremy and I started a tradition the year we got married of going to our church's Christmas Eve service and then to a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you. Last year the boys were a little sick so they didn't get to go with us. This year John-Mark was with is mom-mom and Gracie was with her Papa so we took just James. He HATED the big fire - which to be fair -scares me too and he really had no warning of what was about to happen. He liked watching the cooking but he didn't like it when the chef tossed a shrimp for him to catch in his mouth that hit him on his forehead - you would have thought he hit him with a brick! Poor thing - it was a little past bed time so it's really shame on us :) I look forward to taking all the babies in years to come! I know that John-Mark will LOVE it - their personalities are just so different.
Here are a couple pics from Christmas morning - it's so hard to take pictures, videos and enjoy your family all at the same time!

Trying to get a good pic of the boys in thier matching Christmas pj's on Christmas Eve - this is the best I could get :(

Update with Gracie-
Gracie is getting so big! She is finally in her 0-3 month clothes and they almost fit her perfectly - some are still a little big. She is doing great at sleeping at night. She's now going from about 10:30 until 4:30/5 am which is WONDERFUL! Her daytime naps are still hit and miss and she would really prefer if we just held her all day long - and she lets us know it :) She loves to be held up on your shoulder so she can look all around. She's also a bit of a wiggle worm - always moving those legs and arms and looking around. In some ways she seems more laid back than the boys at this age and in other ways not so much. When she does nap I'm pretty sure she could sleep through a tornado! The boys can run around her yelling their heads off and she doesn't even budge - good for her because they seem to be getting louder by the day :) Everyone asks me if it is different having a little girl now after having boys and really not so much so far. Ofcourse the diaper changes are a bit more challenging compared to boys (or atleast it seems that way to us since we're used to how to handle the boys:)) The major thing that is different is just how dainty she is - she has the sweetest, most dainty little hands with the longest little piano fingers - I love them and she loves to wrap them around your finger - so precious!!
Here are some pics of my sweet girl:
Almost a grinner for the camera :)
The boys
James and John-Mark are keeping me on my toes pretty much 24/7 - the two of them together are a hoot and sometimes nothing but pure trouble :) John-Mark is basically James' shadow and does EVERYTHING he does - even if James gets in trouble for hitting John-Mark or taking his toy and has to go to his room - John-Mark follows right after him.
James is getting so big and continues to be my little helper - I love that I can ask him to do almost anything and he can do it - such a help sometimes! He is doing good on counting his numbers - in fact, John-Mark listens to us count so much yesterday I watched him stacking some blocks and "counting" as he was stacking like we always do. I'm hoping this "copying" is going to really come in handy when we get ready to potty train - maybe I can get TWO out of diapers at one time - how great would that be!
John-Mark is talking more and more all the time - his new favorite words are bubba (brother), choo doo (choo choo), NO :), hot dog, hot, and milk. He keeps me laughing and crying :) He is also starting to feed himself with utensils - which is not fun for me but I know he has to learn and he's ready - once again he just wants to be like his big brother in every way.
My most favorite thing that James is doing right now is that he always gives hugs and kisses together - he won't do one without the other and when I lay him down for naps or bed time I'll kiss him and hug him and we say "sqeeze" and then I'll stand up and he'll grin at me and put his little finger up and say "one more time" - melt my heart!! We'll do it about 10 more times before I leave - I just love to hear him say "one more time mommy" with that sweet grin!! This is something that Jeremy has done with him forever.
James LOVES tools right now, hence his Christmas present. He wants to be like daddy and manny :) He loves to carry around his "hanner" and even sleeps with it! He tells me about 100 times a day "I fix it mommy".

Do I have any food on my face?

Christmas Photos

This past week we had family pictures taken by a professional photographer for the first time since we started adding babies to our family :) Our photographer did a great job getting wonderful pics of the boys. We got a couple good ones of the whole family - it's hard to get everyone smiling :) Sadly, we didn't get very many good ones of Gracie - it was kind of chilly the day we took them so we had her bundled up except when we snapped the pics and she wasn't too happy about it! I have no idea how we're going to pic our favorites to frame but here are a few:

Gracie - 1 month old!

Don't have much time to post - just wanted to update on Gracie - she turned 1 month yesterday - she is still so tiny and still wearing newborn clothes and diapers! At two weeks she weighed 7 lbs 2 oz so I know she is growing but she's still itty bitty :)
Night time sleeping is good but not consistent - the best she's gone is from around 11 until 4:30! but that was just once :) She is still cat napping in her bouncy seat most days and really just loves to be held as much as possible. She still resembles James as a baby the most but she's starting to come into her own look - I look forward to seeing what she'll look like in a couple of years with pig tails!! fun!!
James is carrying around a football and baseball around and asking me to "get down" and come play so gotta' go -
more pics from our Christmas pictures to come!

I think we've got this one in the bag brother! Let's turn your hat around -

One more time - Roll Tide!
this is how sweet gracie enjoyed the game :)

In all fairness you know Jeremy is a huge Florida fan so I'll probably have to do another post like this one day when Florida beats us - hopefully not for a while and by then they will love Alabama so much they may refuse to wear Florida gear :)

Gracie and Judah!

Right this moment my boys are silently eating their hamburger, french fries and peas for dinner, Gracie is napping in the bouncy seat on the kitchen island and we're listening to Martina McBride's Christmas album - if only every evening could be this easy - last night, not so much - the boys were in bed at 5:45 - rough day :)
Anyhoo - today my sweet friend Taryn brought us dinner. She has a little boy that is James' age and they are great friends and she a had another little boy in July (on my birthday to be exact :)) so we're hoping he and Gracie will be fast friends too! We took a couple pics of them today. We got cracked up because Judah looks sooo big compared to Gracie - he is a big boy - almost 20 pounds and 4 months!! But if Gracie follows in her brothers footsteps she won't be so "tiny" for long :)
So cute - Judah is so happy! The Homecoming Queen and the Quarterback - ha :)
Judah already trying to give a little extra love :)

Gracie with her first bow. I don't really know how you are supposed to put them in her hair - this one had velcro attached to it but I still had to put a tiny piece of tape on the back of the velcro strip to keep it put in her hair - don't worry - she wasn't harmed - it was just a little peice of tape and I only did it for the pic :)
Many have asked who she looks like - she looks very much like James as a baby which means another mini me for Jeremy :) But her hair is not as blond as James' was/is - I really think she is going to have auburn hair - she's not red like Jeremy was as a baby but she has a tint - which I think you can really see in this pic.
Also - I've been meaning to post about Gracie's name. Grace is a name that I have LOVED forever - I even thought about naming her Karis (which is the greek word for Grace) but just kept coming back to how much I loved Grace and calling her Gracie and Jeremy really liked it too. Her middle name, Marie, is my mom's middle name. We wanted her to have a family name as well since both the boys do. So there ya' go!

Update

So, I've always prided myself on trying to keep our blog updated at least on a weekly basis - well, so long to that for now:) Honestly things are going way better than I had expected but having much extra time for blogging is hard to come by right now. I have tons of things I want to blog about so I'll try to do an update on the things I can remember right now :)
I think I prepared myself for the addition of #3 being really, really hard and I jokingly tell people that it's only really hard :) so it's been much easier than I expected! Everyone seems to be adjusting really well. I've been out and about much more than I expected - not so much with all three but with one or two - that is one thing that's tough- running any sort of errand with three little ones - a. getting in and out of the car takes forever and b. most places don't have carts that accommodate three under 2 1/2. I have my ergo carrier but don't have the newborn part so I haven't been able to use it yet - but soon that will help a lot!
Jeremy had FIVE days off for Thanksgiving which we all LOVED!! I love having him home and so do the boys - it also gave me a chance to get out of the house ALONE for a bit - glorious!! He kept all three babies so I could go do a little "after pregnancy" clothes shopping - what a super dad!!
Two nights this past week Jeremy went out and built bonfires and he and James sat out there for HOURS enjoying the fire - so glad he finally has someone that loves a fire as much as he does. John-Mark went out for a bit but he likes to run around and not listen so well so he had to come back in - which he was not happy about but soon enough he'll be out there all night too. We also had a huge tree fall in our neighbors yard and Jeremy spent most of Sunday chopping it up and getting it off their yard. James spent most of the day out their with him loving every minute of it. It was the cutest thing to watch Jeremy carrying these huge limbs and James following behind him with a stick and helping pile them all up. I know Jeremy loved every minute of it too - he and his little mini me.
James has also decided he is going to be a second mommy to John-Mark :) Over the past week he has been very bossy with him telling him things like "go to time out John-Mark and quit whining" (think he's been told that a time or two:) We put the Christmas tree up yesterday and James is quick to run over and pull John-Mark away any time he goes near an ornament. Sometimes he does this nicely, other times he pushes or pulls him down - not so nice.
Gracie is still doing great. She is sleeping from around 10:30 until 3 and then up for about 20 minutes to eat and get a quick diaper change and then she goes back down until 6:30 or 7. I haven't been very strict on her daytime sleep yet - we do a 3 hour schedule of eat, play, and sleep but sometimes she sleeps really good and sometimes she just cat naps. Usually around 6 weeks is when I really crack down napping - maybe I'll have more time for blogging then :) Right now she is just so sweet and cuddly and I could hold her all day if it weren't for my two sweet boys needing me too :)
I know there is tons more to blog about but my time is up - I just heard a bang and now a cry - gotta go save the day :)
Finally - a family pic

Oh - one last thing - we have been overwhelmed by everyone's generosity in making sure our little Gracie girl has something to wear:) We honestly had not one pink thing when she was born and now she is covered! Thank you to everyone that has passed along clothes, blankets, shoes, and more!

My little cowboys

Last Saturday the boys and I were able to get out of the house for a bit and leave Gracie with her grandparents. Their friend Zach had his 2nd birthday and it was a cowboy party. Here are my little cowboys in action - they had a great time!
This pic is not from the party but I thought it was so cute - John-Mark was helping his daddy work on Mom-Mom's car - I don't know how much he helped but he sure looked cute:)
