Drumroll Please

It's A Boy!
Much, much, much to our surprise but we are super excited! Everything looked great and he is growing right on schedule (even measuring a couple days larger than my due date - maybe he'll come early (crossing my fingers!!)) So it is official that Gracie will be the ultimate princes of the Allen house - I'm sure she will LOVE it! Now I have to think/plan about how to make her/new baby's room co-ed :) If anyone has any great ideas please share!
We're not 100% on the name yet but when we settle on one I'll be sure to post for all my loyal followers :)

Lately?

I can't believe how long it has been since I've blogged! I really try to be a weekly blogger but life has been a little hectic around here lately. I'm not going to go in to too many details to respect the privacy of those involved but I will say that we have had an extra 2 1/2 year old around here for the past couple of weeks so I personally have been thrown off of my normal routine quite a bit. This is only temporary and it's actually been going pretty smooth as far as all the kids getting along and sleeping arrangements (which I fretted over) but just the added body to wash, teeth to brush, clothes to dress, car seat to strap in and more has been quite a challenge. We are totally getting prepared for our new arrival in September :) I also have been terrible at taking pictures. J got a new iphone so he has been getting lots of great video footage of the kids lately but I seem to always be too busy doing something else to think to grab the camera.

This past weekend J and I were able to grab a quick weekend getaway to Atlanta sans kids and it was G L O R I O U S! I can't even remember the last time just the two of us were able to get away. Being able to sleep in (well, not much because my body wakes up at 6:30 pretty much on it's own - but being able to leisurely crawl out of bed), eating out and having uninterrupted conversations, and just being together uninterrupted in general was nice. Our life is pretty hectic in general and we often both get stressed and forget that we are on the same team! It was so nice to get away and get to just be husband and wife and not mommy and daddy for a bit :) We spent the morning at IKEA (my first trip - LOVED IT) and the afternoon at a Braves game. Fun for all! :)
My babies spent the weekend with my mom and had a little early Easter egg hunt and they came home with baskets full of goodies! Aren't grandparents so much fun!

James giving little sisser a ride :)

Everyone around here is getting so big it seems. I took the boys last week to get their "summer puppy cuts" and I think it made them both look so much older. I cut them both pretty short just because it grows so fast and when the super warm weather comes it's cooler just to keep it short.
Pre hair cuts - I don't know what they are doing - they just wanted to put their legs on the window like this and take a picture-
Handsome boy - bye bye curls - see you in the fall :)

Doesn't he look older than 2 1/2?

And him older than 3 1/2!?!
No hair cut for sisser - she's showing off her new bunny bubble that I made her - how cute is she!?!
My silly boy - always making ALL of us laugh!

Gracie is truly a hot mess! She is in to EVERYTHING! There's very little that she sees her brothers do that she can't do or at least try. She keeps me on my toes and totally wears me out!
Setting up the ball on the t - I need to get this girl in a dance class and soon or she may only want to play with balls like her brothers do! I'm pretty sure my boys are going to have me spending many of my days at the ball park as they get older - I would hope having a girl would help me be able to break it up a bit :) I will say that my mom said while they were hunting Easter eggs she was very prissy and insisted on carrying her basket on her wrist like a purse so she's all girl too!
The bathing beauty - This girl LOVES bath time!

I almost forgot to post about this! A couple of weeks ago one of James' best friends invited him to a local Indy race. I didn't tell James about it until the morning of the race. When he learned what he was doing he went directly to John-Mark, grabbed his shoulders and even squatted down to make sure they were at eye level and said, "John-Mark, I'm going to go with Mr. Mike, Mrs. Nikki, and Zachy to watch real race cars and you're not going" - Real nice big brother, huh. John-Mark was pretty devastated when James left without him. I don't think he really cared where he was going he just loves to be with his brother - he cried "I want my James" for quite a bit. We have learned that John-Mark is very loyal to James. If James hurts him and we ask him what happened he'll just say "I hurt my leg" or whatever but he rarely ever tells on James. James on the other hand will tattle tell and call John-Mark out in a second! It will be interesting to see how all this plays out as they get older.
Here are some adorable pics from the race!
